Poetry Prompt #7 – 30 poems in 30 days challenge

Good morning! Today’s prompt is to write a love poem, but the object of the poem should be inanimate. You can write a love poem to your favorite pen, the teddy bear you had as a child (and maybe still have), or anything else, so long as it’s not alive!   (from NaPoWriMo.net)

  1. a poem for this prompt from Angel Johnston:

    HAIR BRUSH

Oh how you glide through my hair,
    going down gently
    then hits a rough patch,
    pulling, tugging,
lots and lots of hair is left.
    Ouch!! Stop that hair pulling.
It can be long and purple or it can be
    round and white,
Or short and stubby with the color blue,
    each little prong helps form
the hair the way it needs to be.
My favorite one helps me with different styles
and colors that it has to be.
    From start to bottom,
    you glide ever so litely
    then hits a rough patch,
    pulling, tugging and
to much is taken off the bottom.
From start to finish my brush is the
savior. She is what gets me
    through the day looking nice.
Without her i would be lost
    with a messy hair doo.
