  1. thanks nick
    i strongly appreciate it
Those were the innocent years when all was wonderful .. not a care in the world.
when nothing was everything. I am not implying we had nothing.. simpler times my friend
today we have so much and everything appears like nothing
best regards to your family and letizia

  2. Rock n’roll days of rollerskating
    by Rita Recine

This was such a long time ago.
Roller skating brings me back to yesterday when all was innocent and serene.
The 70’s, the 80’s the rock and roll days of roller skating.
    .
The 70’s the 80’s rock n roll days of roller skating
The lights would set the mood,
    On a Sunday afternoon.

We fell and we stood up .
    Stood straight and would fall.
We bumped on others, we laughed .
The 70’s the 80’s rock n roll days of roller skating

    Skating to our hearts content
Disco balls turned round and round
to the sound of the music.
The 70’s the 80’s rock n roll days of roller skating

    There was food, and drink
People of all ages filled the rink.
The 70’s the 80’s rock n roll days of roller skating

    Made friendships and much more
Rock n roll days of roller skating

The 70’s the 80’s rock n roll days of roller skating

    We twisted and we turned
We held hands or skated on our own.
    We were young and carefree..
At the rink with my sisters and me.

    The 70’s the 80’s rock n roll
    Days
    of rollerskating

    The 70’s the 80’s rock n roll
    Days of roller skating

Skating side by side the music warmed your dancing feet
When you saw your mate your heart skipped a beat

    The 70’s the 80’s rock n roll
    Days of roller skating
Your soul begins to sing as the music rings.

The 70’s the 80’s rock n roll days of roller skating

It was fun, joyous and memorable.
These are passages of time which are not forgetful
We carry them with us everyday..
Reflecting on yesterday when we had it our way..
    We were so young ……
The 70’s the 80’s rock n roll days of roller skating

Where the music once was there is a closed door.
    roller skating no more
    Those were the days
You will never feel the same
Until that day you decide to roller skate again.
The 70’s the 80’s rock n roll days of roller skating

I love this poem Rita! reminds of the times when me and my cousin would go rollerskating and we would see our boyfriends 🙂 My mother in law told me she met her husband (my father in law) years ago while rollerskating as teenagers.

    1. Never went rollerskating, but the imagery you set forward in my mind is right smack on! I say continue telling stories of yesterday thru your poems Rita. They trigger a utopian time of innocence set by our parents love as they sheltered us from the bad of thisc world.
