Prompt #1 – unfunny

a not so funny poem by Rita Marie Recine

It is not so funny when a great memory brings you to tears
It is not funny when great things never seem to last
It is not funny when your past becomes your present and your future

It is not funny when your best friend betrays you

It is not funny when you are always there to give a helping hand .

When you need one there is no one around
It is not funny that we have more patients fewer doctors
It is not funny when in today’s society we still have homelessness and poverty
It is not funny when we have young boys and girls going to the battlefield
It is not funny when you can forgive, but you can never forget
Its not funny when bullying tears people apart.. living in silence

It is not funny when one minute, you are a child and with a blink of an eye we are already adults.. time goes by so fast.

it is not funny when a young love  does not last

it is not funny when we want peace worldwide and we  cannot have peace within the family unit..

it is not funny when people have disagreements and do not agree to disagree

it is not funny when we have more lavish homes but more broken homes

it is not funny when you do your best and it still is not enough

it is not funny how sunshine can quick turn to rain

it is not funny that we have more technology, yet we speak less to people

it is not funny when saying hello, sharing a thought, maybe the last goodbye

it is not funny when one believes they are better than others…..living in a material world
