Poetry Prompt #9 by Eileen Hugo

poetry prompt – hotel room

Hotel Room by Eileen Hugo

The rug is thread-bare and damp on my bare feet

I close the blinds the trying to ignore the bent and missing ones

he is lying naked wanting and waiting for me

I am wondering what the hell I am doing here

Mr. self-centered is unattractive and boorish

nothing about this moment is what I dreamed

he said hotel room I thought Four Seasons

This room is as tawdry  as this idea of an affair

I grab my shoes on the way out

Thank you Eileen for your poetic contribution this National Poetry Month 🙂  NEVER too late for poetry 🙂

Eileen also has a wonderful Halloween poem on Poetry Pasta 🙂
